The Metropolitan Foundation is a newly established, independently run and operated Foundation focused on achieving meaningful interventions in the areas of Health and Education in South Africa. Our mission is to create a society where strong leadership and collaboration help bring about sustained behavioural changes in the fields of health and education, specifically focusing on the areas of HIV and AIDS, and schooling, respectively.
We are privileged to have as our founding donor, the Metropolitan Group of companies. Through covering all our set-up and operational costs, Metropolitan ensures that any further funding we receive is immediately directed to either our in-house or externally-funded projects.
Our board is independently chaired by Peter Doyle, and includes a minority donor-representation. Our mandate is broad, currently seeking to intervene in the health and education sectors in South Africa, with future plans to assist in SADC as well as further in the African continent.
